题目:Optimal transportation and the Monge-Ampère equation

摘要:Optimal transportation has found many applications in modern science and technology, such as optical imaging and machine learning. It has been extensively studied in the last three decades. The existence of optimal mappings can be obtained by Kantorovich’s duality. The regularity can be obtained by studying the associated Monge-Ampère type equation, which is a class of fully nonlinear partial differential equation with strong singularity. In this lecture, we will introduce optimal transportation and Kantorovich’s duality, and review the regularity theory of the Monge-Ampère equation. We will also present a fast and stable computational approach to its numerical solutions.
报告人简介:汪徐家教授主要从事非线性椭圆抛物方程理论及其应用的研究,取得了一系列深刻的成果。解决了陈省身的仿射Bermstein问题猜想和Monge的原始最优运输问题。对Monge-Ampère型方程的正则性和位势理论以及平均曲率流的奇性刻画做出突破性工作。在2002年获澳大利亚数学会奖章,2007年获第四届华人数学家大会晨兴数学金奖,2009年当选为澳大利亚科学院院士。2013年获得澳大利亚Laureate Fellowship.
